Who we are

Mr Purple is the business coaching practice of Dr Tom Hitchcock, based in New South Wales and working with clients across Australia. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

  • Contact details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, business name and role.
  • Details you give us through a LinkedIn lead form. When you submit one of our forms on LinkedIn, LinkedIn passes us the fields you confirmed, which are usually your name, email address, job title and company.
  • What you tell us in enquiries, discovery calls and coaching conversations, including notes about your business and what you are trying to change.
  • Booking details when you book a call through Calendly, and registration details when you sign up for one of our events through Eventbrite.
  • Basic activity information, such as which pages of our site you visited, and whether an email we sent was opened or a link in it was clicked.

We do not collect sensitive information. Please do not send us health records, or personal details about someone else, unless we have agreed that you need to.

How we use it

  • To answer your enquiry and arrange a conversation.
  • To provide the coaching and services you have asked for.
  • To send you our newsletter and occasional offers, where you have agreed to that or where you are an existing client. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link and we act on it.
  • To keep the records the law requires us to keep.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it so that somebody else can market to you.

Who we share it with

Only the services we need in order to run the business:

  • GoHighLevel, which is our customer record and email system
  • Calendly for bookings and Eventbrite for event registrations
  • LinkedIn, where you submitted a lead form or responded to one of our advertisements
  • Google, for our email, documents and analytics Some of these store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that they protect it properly.

Cookies and advertising

Our website uses cookies to make it work and to show us which pages are useful. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Where we advertise on LinkedIn or Google, those platforms may set their own cookies or measurement tags so we can tell whether an advertisement worked. Their own privacy policies apply to what they collect.

How long we keep it

For as long as we have a working relationship with you, and after that for as long as the law requires, which is usually seven years for anything with a financial record attached. When we no longer need it we delete it or remove the details that identify you.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Email tom@mrpurple.com.au and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy matter, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
