You built something real. Now you want it to grow without swallowing every evening, weekend and school holiday along the way. Good news: those two things are not opposites.
Mr Purple works with women entrepreneurs and business owners across Australia on the business decisions that are hard to see from inside: what to focus on, who to hire, how to price, and how to get your time back.
Sound familiar?
- You are the business, and the business is you
- You undercharge and know it, but changing feels awkward
- Saying yes to everything has filled the diary, not the bank account
- You want growth, just not at any cost
- You have nobody neutral to think out loud with
What a good business coach should do for you
A coach is not there to tell you how to live, and it is not a pep talk with an invoice. The job is to help you see the business clearly, decide what matters most, and build habits that make follow through normal. Your expertise and your values stay yours. We work on the machinery around them.
What we often work on
Pricing with confidence. Charging for the value you create, explained plainly, without apologising. Our piece on how to raise prices in a small business is a good warm up.
Saying no well. Choosing the work, clients and opportunities that move you forward, and declining the rest kindly.
Your first or next hire. Working out what to hand over first and how to hand it over properly.
A growth plan that fits your life. Ninety day priorities built around the time you actually have, not the time a productivity guru assumes you have.
Confidence in the numbers. A short weekly look at the figures that matter, so decisions get easier.
Is it a women only programme?
No. Mr Purple coaches business owners of every background, and Dr Tom Hitchcock leads the coaching. What you get is the same rigour and the same warmth, applied to your business and the goals you set. If you would specifically prefer a woman as your coach, that is a perfectly good reason to choose someone else, and we will happily say so.
Where to start
- Write down the three things that would make the next ninety days a win
- List what you did last week and mark what only you could have done
- Look at your three smallest clients and ask whether they are worth it
- Take the free Wobble Check to spot your wobbliest area
Bring one business wobble
Fifteen honest minutes with Dr Tom Hitchcock. Bring the problem you cannot quite name. No surprise proposal ambush and no hard sell. If coaching is not the right move, Tom will tell you, and usually point you somewhere useful.
Business Coach for Women Entrepreneurs: questions people ask
- What does a business coach for women entrepreneurs do?
- The same core job as any good business coach: helps you get clear on priorities, make better decisions, build a team and systems, and follow through. The difference is fit. You want a coach who understands your goals and how you want to run your business.
- Do I need to be a certain size to get coaching?
- No. We work with solo founders right through to owners with sizeable teams. What matters is that you want to change something and are willing to act on it.
- Can coaching be online?
- Yes. Most sessions are online, which makes it easier to fit around everything else. We are based in Sydney and work with owners right across Australia.
- How do I choose the right coach?
- Ask how they will learn your business, what happens between sessions and how progress is measured. Our guide on how to choose a business coach in Australia has the full list of questions.
We also offer business coaching for particular sectors where Tom has deep experience: business coaching for NDIS providers, business coaching for aged care leaders and business coaching for allied health practice owners.
